Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time, make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
Habakkuk 3:2

I live in Franklin, TN and have been married for almost 6 years to Chad, the most-interesting man alive. Chad is my absolute best match and the coolest person I know. We started the process to adopt our baby girl from China on March 25th 2015, which was my 29.5 th birthday. We officially sent in our dossier on September 25th 2016, the day I turned 30 and was officially eligible.
We received our first and only “referral” on March 23rd 2016, two days short of 6 months since our dossier was submitted. The baby girl in that email mesmerized us, and we haven’t been the same. Our daughter was born with a complete, unilateral cleft lip. Willa (as we will call her) underwent surgery about 5 weeks after we sent our Letter of Intent to adopt. She is now recovering from surgery in China. We are currently in the process of going through the last few paperwork steps and hope to travel later this summer.

Chad and I are using Holt International out of Eugene, OR as our agency and did our home study with Catholic Charities here in Nashville, TN. We often liken the paperwork trail of adoption to the “Escape Game,” as we’ve jumped through one hoop on to the next, but overall, we have been blown away by the client service we’ve received from both Holt and Catholic Charities. Consider this our recommendation for either of these organizations.

Chad and I both feel very called to this adoption, which you’ll learn about through my words in these posts. If you’d ever like to discuss anything you see here or ask questions, please don’t hesitate to jump over to my contact page. Thanks for reading our story.
